Eh! Sounds kind of cliché. But the idea is a great one. I mean who doesn't like new things the problem is the expectation. We set ourselves up for failure when making plans of nutrition, exercise, and self-care without factoring in our everyday reality. Some days are going to be A days , you will work out, give yourself a mask, eat clean hey you might even throw in an affirmation. There will also be average days you will start off strong, between work, a never ending to do list you grab fast food, throw some chocolate in the mix, plan to work out but that idea fizzles off towards the end of the day. Then there's the days will you completely fall off into the deep end of nothingness, the day was ahead of you before you even started. Everyone is fed and happy including the dog except you, while you managed to eat 3 Doritos and a bag of your kids fruit snacks. Your just happy to end the day with a glass of wine. Let me just say this give yourself grace, we are not superhero's even though we move throughout our days as if we are. Juggling everything that life throws at us just to get up and do it all again. This year let's say its okay to get 5 squats in the kitchen, its okay to screw up your meal plan at lunch, redeem yourself at dinner, sometimes self-care is sitting on the toilet in the dark with complete silence. Whatever you need to do to catch YOUR breath DO IT! And by all means do it unapologeticaly, this thing we call life is a marathon and not a sprint. I mean who likes sprints anyways?
